Stylish but simple leather backpack
Pros:
-The leather is very high quality and rugged. It takes a beating on my daily commute but holds up great.
-The zippers are robust and buttery smooth to operate. The zips on my previous backpack were the first to break so this is an appreciated upgrade.
-The Vernon backpack is a compact, rectangular shape without bulges, but can still fit a surprising bulk and take a hefty load. This allows it to easily slip into confined spaces like under airplane seats without getting caught like other backpacks.
Cons:
-The straps can be uncomfortable when the backpack is heavy. They would be more comfy if wider. I'm considering buying some attachable straps to widen their shape.
-The side pockets are too small to fit items like big water bottles or umbrellas. I can't take my larger water bottle with me because of this.
-The laptop pocket, while it easily accommodates the bulkiest of 15" laptops, has a strap that's too short to secure large 15" laptops. I easily circumvented this with a small, 2 inch long piece of double-sided velcro.
Take home:
This is easily the best backpack I've ever owned. I look forward to using it for years or decades to come.
